Ensemble Trame Sonore performing Elizabeth Raum’s Searching for Sophia
MOTHER, Grant me a voice, Oh Mother of Life. Don’t let them silence me, those who would take away my name, my children, my place in existence… those who would denounce my very soul; for I have much to say, I have much to do.
I feel the life stir within my body, and though it be agony to let it forth, I would willingly suffer to allow that life to exist, to grow and thrive. But it must know that I was its mother.
A great rendition of my Festival Fanfare performed at the Canadian Women’s Brass Conference, January 19, 2019, Walter Hall, University of Toronto. For more information visit Canadian Women’s Brass Collective
Featuring Matthew Russell, trombone and Lauren DeRoller, violin
I was just working on putting in the notes to my first opera, The Final Bid, into Finale and got tired so I ego surfed and discovered this fantastic rendition of my arrangement of A Mighty Fortress (is Our God).
According to the description, this appears to be by the faculty trombones of the Stetson University, FL. Performers are: Kerry Couch, Joey Powell, Rodney Maingrette, Robyn McClure, Emily Nichols, CJ Shafer and Chris Haines (Bass).
I blundered onto this absolutely gorgeous recording of my Fantasy for Trombone with a British brass band arrangement by Dorothy Gates, tuba performed by Steve Sykes and Nick Hudson playing the solo on trombone. I’ve never heard it this way. My gosh, they do a great job!
New album Discoveries from Canadian Brass member Achilles Liarmakopoulos, trombone accompanied by Amy J. Yang, piano, including my Fantasy for Trombone(1985).
The album is available on itunes, amazon, amoebamusic, etc Physical copies are available exclusively at the Canadian Brass store.
