Concerto for Violin (1993) 30 min. Commissioned by the Regina Symphony for violinist, Erika Raum, daughter of the composer. Premiered in April of 1993 and broadcast for Mostly Music. Olmutz Concerto for Alto Trombone and Orchestra (1995) 20 min. This Classical style concerto was commissioned by the CBC for trombonist Christian Lindberg and the Regina Symphony Orchestra. EUPHONIUM AND/OR TUBA
Faustbuch (2003) commissioned by Mark Jenkins for euphonium and piano. Three movements based on the Faust legend. Also a version for F tuba. Premiered by Jenkins on January 24th at the Army band tuba/euphonium convention at Ft. Myer, Virginia. There are also accompaniments for both band (premiered by John Griffiths at ITEC 2004 in Budapest), and orchestra (premiered by Mark Jenkins and the US Army Orchestra conducted by Maj. Paul Bamonte). Pershing Concerto (1999) 14 min. Commissioned by Richard Raum and performed first as a work for euphonium and piano by Richard on a faculty recital at the University of Regina, and later as a concerto for tuba and band by John Griffiths with the US Army Band (“Pershing’s Own”), and finally with orchestra with the Regina Symphony at ITEC 2000 in Regina, Saskatchewan conducted by Roger Bobo. Versions for C or F tuba as well as euphonium.
